Slut Shaming in a World of Cyber Bullies, NoBullying Investigates Today matters to all. Your mother, your daughter, and maybe yourself. Women are so easy to be targeted online and called sluts. Women are called names because of their bodies, behavior and sometimes for no reason at all. This kind of online violance have a potiential to cause a lot of tragedies.
Besides pressing for more firm laws condemning all acts of bullying and harassment, what we can do?
Fighting Slut-Shaming and Cyber-Bullying: 7 Things Teachers Can Do is a very instructional blog. It a deep thinking form a teacher’s perspect and thinking what a teacher can really do instead of calling for regulatory or legistelation. It’s an active and positive attitude. Eveyone can start changing and make a different. Everybody counts.
It’s a way to help students learn about critical thinking. I like the concept the author gives, your body=your worth. The thinking about True, Helpful, Inspiring, Necessary, Kind applies eveywhere.
Educating people of moving toward a more forgiving digital world is what worth the efforts.
I also read Rachelle’s blog about what teacher’s can do. I liked that you were able to connect hers in your blog. This message needs to be spread, and not so taboo! Educating and talking about it is key, not something that we can ignore.
